Very Slow or Intermittant Response accross Intranet to Win2000 Server

In-House Network with all systems running Win-Me and the
server running Win-2000 Server. All systems access the
internet through a linksys router. Two systems access the
Server from dlink hub to linksys router to linksys hub.
5 systems run perfectly (one of which uses same path as
the faulty one)
1 system accesses internet across dlink hub to linksys
router perfectly but that one system cannot reliably
access the Win-2000 Server. Performance is very slow or
un-responsive. Other systems running through the same hub
to the Server have no problems. This system has no
problems crossing the hub to the router to the internet,
only the Server and the second system using the same path
has not problems.

Ideas??
