hi,

I think I have name resolution problems because only dns queries return
information.
so if my client is not configured to use mydomain.local as the dns suffix
name, any name request to local computers doesn't works.
ping mycomputer doesn't works
ping mycomputer.mydomain.local works fine

I'm using a DHCP server and WINS server

my DHCP scope options:
046 node type : 0x8
015 domain name : mydomain.local
044 wins/nbns server : 192.168.1.2
006 DNS Server : 192.168.1.2

so how to validate the name resolution order really used?
and how to correct it to use my wins server and make sure that if the
mydomain.local dns suffix is not set I can find targets computers.

thanks.

Jerome.
