Variations on a Router Theme

Recently, I was at a hotel with an interesting wireless setup. To get
access to the Internet, your first connect to their network would
funnel you to a website, where you had to enter the room number and
that days password.

Is there documentation (HowTo's, FAQ's, etc) that would show an
intermediate Linux user how to do this?
