I want to rename a directory on my network. But somewhere a file below
it is open. Is there a utility that will tell me what files are open
within a directory, and which machine has it opened?

In server, right click My computer
Select Manage
In left pane, expand Computer Management -> System Tools -> Shared
Folders -> Opened Files
In right pane, you will have all the shared files opened on the server

Jim
You can use computer management to view open sessions to the share. In case
you don't know...right click my computer, choose manage, shared
folders...there you can view active shares, who is accessing them, and what
files are opened.

Hi

I use the Open File List Utility from the following site:
http://www.merxsoft.com/Free/ofl.htm

It's very useful for us.
