USRobotics 802.11g wireless network in Windows XP

I recently purchased a USR8054 wireless router and two USR5416 PCI wireless
cards for my two desktops to create a home network. Also purchased the
USR5410 PC Card for a future laptop purchase (when I can finally afford the
one I want i.e. Sager 5680).

Anyway, I have an ADSL external modem running into the wireless router and
both desktops can share the internet connection I show 100Mbps connection
(proprietary engine allows this since all the equipment is USRobotics ~ I
know the Internet isn't downloading that fast, but I have good signals from
the router to both desktops and that is the wireless network speed). The
problem is that I can't share files/folders! I have tried using Window XPs
network setup wizard, but the two computers do not see each other when I
click on My Network Place. I have setup both computers to use JEPPNET as
the workgroup name and each computer has a specific name DEN and LIZ, but
the only thing I have been able to do is connect to the Internet from both
desktops. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jepp

Do you know the IP addresses of the other PCs ? Can you ping them ? if using
DHCP set static IPs. If you can ping them eg go to Start > Run
\\192.168.0.1\c$ to access hidden C drive share when prompted for a username
enter a user account on that PC which is part of the administrators group
and is password.

I finally got it to work. I went into the router configuration via an
Internet browser and changed the host name to match my workgroup name
(default was USR8020). After that, I was able to see the other computer and
share files through the wireless network.
