Hello

I have an USR8054 with all 4 LAN ports used, im not broadcasting my
SSID, im not using WEP however whenever I start downloading a large
file, like over 100+MB my wireless connection drops and then comes back
a few seconds later.

Any ideas?

Also my Power and Status LED lights on this are amber not green is this
normal?

I don't notice it on large files (haven't tried to download any that big to
my sole wireless client, an 802.11b XP laptop), but I do note that it often
fails when I compose a post over an SSH connection. Or just hanging out;
it doesn't do it _only_ at those times. It didn't do it this time at all;
maybe it's temperature-related. It usually comes back; occasionally I have
to power-cycle the 8054 and reboot the laptop.

Not yet. Maybe firmware 1.18 will fix it. Hope springs eternal...

Mine too.

Why do you think they should be green?

The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. All you
have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists
for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country. -- Hermann Goering

Interesting

The reason I was asking is because the users manual says the Power and
Status lights should be green, however USR is not known for their
documentation. I am only noticing a dropoff when I try to download a
large file over wireless, over wired it works just dandy

Hi.

I have the same problem here, I have the USR8045 router which while
browsing the net or file transfer it just hangs, then it will go again
after so long. This connected to a USR5450 by crossover cable which acts as
a client to a AP some 3 miles away.

Which 10/100 ports on the 8045 are occupied? I think the people with this
problem have all four ports taken, but maybe people who don't have this
problem do too.
