Anyone aware of any incomaptability with this set up? I am unable to
get the USR8054 to connect no matter what I try. I even took the
original one back thinking I got a bad one, but the replacement acts
the same. The Linksys 802.11b router Im wanting to replace connects
up just fine. Perhaps I should have gotten the Linksys 802.11g
replacement.

probably your dsl provider has put the mac address of the linky into their
mac table and you need them to reset for your new hardware.

Hi,

There's a know issue regarding the cable between then Alcatel DSL modem and
the 8054.

You must use the specific cable delivered with the 8054 (here it's a thin
black cable with 2 yellow RJ45 connectors).

I don't know exactly why but it doesn't work with any other standard cable.

Try it and tell me.

Regards.

Andre

Thanks for finding it for me.
Also, this AM I received an actual response from USR saying basicly the same
thing, I need to
use a special cable, however, they dont have any available. They did
provide the pin-out which
I will post here in case anyone else has the same problem:
End 1: Orange-white, Orange, Green-white, Blue, Blue-white, Green,
Brown-white, Brown
End 2: Orange, Orange-white, Green, Blue, Blue-white, Green-white, Brown,
Brown-white

PIN 1 TO 2
PIN 2 TO 1
PIN 3 TO 6
PIN 4 TO 4
PIN 5 TO 5
PIN 6 TO 3
PIN 7 TO 8
PIN 8 TO 7
