Hello,

I made a mistake of purchasing a USR8054. Can someone tell me if their 8054
periodically decides to got AWOL? In other words, 8054 boots up fine,
connects to WAN PPPoE, allocates IPs to clients, wireless and wired. Things
look great at this stage. The status LED on the 8054 is green. Come back
about 18 hours later and the status LED is no longer lit. Access to the Net
is still fine but I decide to check the log. Access the 8054 using the UPNP
NAT Gateway device. No problem. Exit the browser. Try to access the 8054
again using UPNP or IP with no success. Reboot of host ineffective. The only
way to access the router is to reset it or power it on and off.

I'm having nothing but problems with this router. The documentation that
came with the router, the built-in Help, and the documentation on the Net
are all inaccurate. All three sources have HTML files with many broken links
in them. My old Linksys BEFSR41 router was infinitely more stable and
friendlier. Am I doing something wrong?

Ted.

Ted,
sounds like you might have just gotten a hold of a bad one maybe? I've had
mine for a few months now and have only reset it once. Try re-flashing the
firmware and see if that helps at all. If not, take it back and get a
replacement.

Yup... the same thing happened to me... until the whole thing broke
down and decided to go in a constant start/restart cycle. Got in touch
with the place I bought it and they repaced it for me (I had zero help
from USR support who couldn't give me an RMA because thier system was
down)... the new unit's working fine.... suggest you do the same
