Windows XP. When I try to respond to a Remote Assistance request made from a
computer connected to a wireless router, I get the message:
Remote Assistance connection could not be established because the remote
host name could not be resolved. Please try again.
I suspect that my inability to connect to the sending computer is due to the
fact that the computer is assigned a "local" IP address like 192.168.1.x by
the wireless router. Remote Assitance seems to work fine with computers
connected directly to a cable modem (router) as it is then assigned a public
IP. So, how does one effect a Remote Assistance connection to a computer
connected via a wireless router??? Thanks for any help.
