Using an old Netgear wireless router as a repeater?

I have a Netgear MR314 wireless router that I've used with no problem,
but I'm thinking of replacing it with one that is more compatible with
XBox Live.

If I do this, I was wondering whether the 314 could be pressed into
service as a repeater to extend the range of the wireless signal to
the very end of the house, where it's currently pretty weak.

Does anyone know if this is possible and how one would configure it?
Netgear no longer has any documentation for this router on its web
site.

Thanks,

tmac
