Using my house coax for some signaling

Is there a cheap way I can send signals back and forth between two
devices, lets say PCs, over my house coax cable without any
homenetworking type gear? More of a hack thing, I just want to send
occasional codes between 2 devices, and of course not interfere with
cable TV or cable internet that is already there in the cable.
