If you gave us a little more info that may help!!

What account settings have you put in "Grabit"?

The new server will not accept authentication.
If the program attempts to authenticate without making sure that
it is needed, it will fail.
You may try deleting the account name and password.

I'm with Plusnet and my settings are:
Hostname usenet.plus.net
Port 119
Account Name and password are both left blank.

news.plusnet.net is incorrect, as I should have noticed.
You want either beta.usenet.plus.net, or news.plus.net
