The D-Link DWL-900AP+ (mine are 900, not 800, but I kept wanting to call
them 800) units can be picky about who they will work with to do things
beyond basic access point function. They only support bridging with the
exact same model, and that is what I have going on in my network. They will
not bridge with the DWL-900AP (without a plus sign), even.
A DWL-900AP+ would act as a wireless client device hooked to one PCI, with a
Netgear wireless router as the access point, so for that function there was
interoperability.
The DLink documentation is decent, but not outstanding. Check it out, but
don't be too surprised if repeater function does not work. Sometimes they
will do more than the docs say (you know, they just don't wnat to support
every configuration).
