I am on NTL broadband via set top box which has a built in modem. I
have cabled this to a USR Wireless Turbo Router (USR8054). This then
connects to 2 PCs - at present wired and not wireless. Occationally I
use a laptop via wireless connection.

I am thinking of moving to ADSL via BT line as I think I will have
more options on products.

I have seen ISPs offering free broadband modems that are USBs. Can
this somehow be connected to my router above or do I have to get an
ethernet type modem which will connect to the USR above?

I do not want to throw away the above (almost new) router and do not
want to spend on a new modem if I can help it.
