Using BT Yahoo with a .com domain

A colleague has BT Yahoo and uses their dire webmail interface rather than
an offline email reader. They want to register their own domain so they can
send out emails as (E-Mail Removed) rather than (E-Mail Removed), but
their concern is whether they will be able to do this within the constraints
of the BT Yahoo webmail thingy.

Does anyone have any experience of this, and if so, is it relatively easy to
set up within this webmail?

Many thanks.

That has nothing to do with 'owning a domain' per se.

For starters they'll have to find a proper email service. Don't even waste any
more time with webmail.

Yes, they will.

Fairly straightforward, but they (BTYahoo) send a verification email to the
address before you can start using it, so they'll need access to email sent
to the .com domain.

I absolutely agree with your thoughts on the webmail option, but they're
wedded to it (they're very non-technical and are used to it, so won't
change). So what I need to know is whether the BT Yahoo thing can be
configured so that outgoing emails show (E-Mail Removed) rather than
(E-Mail Removed).

Cheers

Maybe but it sounds like a recipe for untold amounts of grief !

I cannot remotely imagine anyone with a domain (who presuambly want to be taken
seriously) relying on a webmail service. It sounds plain daft to me.

Our company has a webmail system, so that people can use their work email
accounts from home. It works very well for checking the odd message, but I
wouldn't want to rely on it in an office environment.

You can of course get a good webmail service provider. In fact I have 4 email
accounts I use fairly seriously and all allow me to access them via some form of
web interface too.

What really puzzles me is that anyone would rely on webmail alone.

Mail forwarding isn't an issue, it's sending. But thanks anyway.
