Using 2 DI-614 wireless routers?

I'm thinking of getting 2 di-614, because they were SO cheap ($30
after rebate), and was thinking that I should be able to use the 2nd
wireless router almost as a repeater?

If I config both of them with the same IP and turn off DHCP on both,
will they be able to see each other? My thought was that I could have
one connected to the internet and use only the switch part of the
second at a different location.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Cheers,

As far as I know you can't use the DI-614 in repeater mode. I have
solved the probelm with a DWL-900AP+ which supports both bridge mode
and repeater mode. And the best of all, it is even cheaper than the
DI-614.
