I am running win 98 and have removed all users yet when
I startup the network logon dialog box still appears with
a username and asks for a password. I realize I can just
click cancel to bypass but how do I stop the box from
popping up.

Go to Control Panel and Networking. From there delete the
Client for Microsoft Networks. If you are not using this
computer in a networking environment, you won't need it.
