Printer has been installed via the print server and set as the default
printer. However, each user must log on and add that printer. I
strongly suspect that I have done something wrong or not done
something (as the case may be!)

What should I do?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Do you use Active Directory? What versions of everything do you run?

Sorry, yes, I do use Active Directory.

Just took over from someone who didn't bother to setup the server as a
print server. Trying to clean up the mess. He just installed printers
on each and every computer seperately and it was and is a nightmare to
maintain and use.

I strongly suspect that I am missing something, When a user logs in to
their account they have no printers setup.

What am or have I done wrong!?

Thanks for your help!

Ugh, yes.

You haven't installed/connected to them yet. This is a per-user thing, not a
per-computer thing.

I don't know of any way to uninstall/delete local printers en masse via
script, although I'm sure it's possible. You might post in a scripting group
for help with that.

There are many ways to add new network printers - I'm a fan of the simple &
old fashioned con2prt.exe (resource kit download). Check out
http://www.ss64.com/nt/con2prt.html.

You definitely want to get rid of the old ones before deploying the new
ones, though - you'll confuse the h__l out of your users otherwise.
