I'm wondering if someone could shed some light on my issue that I have with
my network. I'm currently running W2K Server and I have several XP Home/Pro
machines that are not logging into my W2K Domain - however- they are all
under the same workgroup name. I've got a printer and some files shared from
my W2K Server and I can print to the printer and view the shared files fine.
My problem is when I reboot each of the workstations and I try and print or
access the mapped shared folders I am always presented with a
username/password dialogue box. If I fill it out with the correct user/pass
all is ok until I reboot again. I have also tried selecting (remember
password) check box everytime the 'need username/pass' pops up but no go. My
windows 98 machines work fine and when I login to the domain the printer and
shares are fine. Is there anyway to set this up for my XP machines (by
avoiding to login to my domain) so that they will remember the shares and
printer with it always asking me for a username and password?
Thanks for any help,
Kevin
