Hi,
I receive the following events in the event log every 5 minutes on a single
Windows 2003 with Active Directory and domain controller installed:

Event Source: Userenv
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1097
User: NT-AUTORITÄT\SYSTEM
Description: Das Computerkonto wurde nicht gefunden, Der Anmeldeversuch ist
fehlgeschlagen. . (Windows cannot find the machine account)

Event Source: Userenv
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1030
User: NT-AUTORITÄT\SYSTEM
Description: Die Abfrage der Liste der Gruppenrichtlinienobjekte ist
fehlgeschlagen. Überprüfen Sie das Ereignisprotokoll auf frühere
Fehlermeldungen des Richtlinienmoduls, die die Ursache für dieses Problem
beschreiben. (Windows cannot query for the list of Group Policy objects).

Any idea what is going wrong?

Regards
Holger

I would check the DNS settings first. Or these search result may help,

Event ID Troubleshooting Event ID 1053 - Userenv Event ID 1054 - Windows cannot obtain the domain controller name for your computer network. Event ID 1058, 1059 and 1030 ...

Event ID 1058, 1059 and 1030 Event ID 1058, 1059 and 1030. Event ID 1058 is Group Policy related issue. Normally, there are two symptoms: "network path not found" and "access denied". ...

thanks for your response, I have already checked most of the knowledge base
articles, but without any sucess. I also think it is related to DNS
settings, but how can I fix it?

Maybe the following is helpful: when I run the "Group Policy Modeling
Wizard" in the Group Policy Management I get errors when using the site
"default-name-..." but no errors when using site "none". The errors are
"Component Status, Component Name, unknown error reading group policy".

Regards
Holger
