Hello all,
I have 1 user that cannot access any of our servers(2003) over VPN, no
matter what computer or VPN account he uses. I have tried 4 other
accounts and they have no remote access problems. He can sign on to
the LAN just fine, but if he goes through the VPN he gets nothing.

assuming he can establish the VPN, what do he receive if using net view \\remotepcip? if it is system error 5, it is permission or cached credentials issue. this step b ystpe troubleshooting may help, http://www.howtonetworking.com/VPN/browsingovervpn0.htm

What exactly does "gets nothing" mean? Not even an error message?

Does this machine have a personal firewall running?

I will have to try the remotepcip on monday, he was out of town today.
He gets the logon dialog box as if he doesn't have permission to the
servers. The username as "domain\username" doesn't work for him but it
does for others. Yes, there is a personal firewall running. But the
computer isn't the problem. Any other user than him can sign onto his
computer with his vpn account and have no problems connecting to the
servers. I have tried having him sign onto a pc that works fine, but
he still cannot connect to the servers. This is why I am lead to
belive it is his AD account. But as i stated above, his account isn't
any different from the other users who have no problem with remote
access.

Ok, I think we have narrowed down the problem a little more. Lets say
the user that is having the problem is named Joe. Joe can sign onto
the computer using his domain account. He can sign on successfully to
the VPN with his VPN account. The VPN is set up to use our internal
DNS servers. So he can ping the server name or the IP of the server.
If he tries to map the drive of our mail server it gives hime the logon
box to type in his username and password. If he types in domain\Joe
and his password, after a few minutes he can access the drive. The
same goes with any other server he tries to connect to. If he tries to
run outlook, it never connects to the exchange server. Now, if Bob
signs on, everything is instant, he can check email, map drives he has
no problems at all. There seems to be something wrong with Joe's
domain account, but I can't find anything. I have also created 2 new
users in active driectory, one did not work like Joe's account, the
other worked fine like Bob's account.

We finally got desperate enough to call microsoft. KB244474 was the
solution.
