Hello.
One of the users in the company I work for, cannot access the web. As far as
I can see, it's not a firewall problem, since the Cisco PIX firewall we use,
hasn't blocked the access of his machine's IP address.
Everything about the TCP/IP, DNS etc. seems to be set ok as well. If you
ping an outside address or site you get a reply but when you type an address
on IE it won't open.
I could use any idea before having to check it back on Monday.

Thani you in advance for your time and help!

hi,
no proxy server is used in our company so there are no proxy settings needed.
There are no other user accounts on that machine. Should I try logging in
with the built-in administrator account and see what happens?

Thank you for your help!

Hi,

I should have to wait to try it at work, so I'll get back with the answers
tomorrow morning.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Hi,

Both FTP and telnet connect successfully. Ping replies as well.
I have also checked another IP that belongs to the same subnet and it
connects too. I tried changing the IP that works, to the PC which can't
connect and it won't connect either.
My colleagues who checked our PIX firewall, said that PC's IP isn't blocked.
Trace root also works on that PC.
It's really confusing!

Thank you!
