I've installed Ubuntu Linux 6.10 on my HP Pavilion dv5000.
Is there a way to use the internal modem cheaper than buying
http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/hsf/...ubuntu-x86.php or buying
a new modem?

#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
int main(void) /* Don't try this at home */ {
const size_t dim = 256; int i;
for (i=0; malloc(dim); i++) /*nothing*/ ;
printf("You're done! %zu\n", i*dim);
puts("\n\n--Army1987"); return 0;
}

Try the scanmodem script. I've been able to use Linux on two of three
winmodems I've tried.

I've used it, but ultimately it suggests me to use the Linuxant driver...

OK - that's the best advise I have.
