I have a usb wireless adapter. My operating system is
Windows ME. My apartment has a Linksys base station for
cable internet. I am constanly being kicked off the
internet. It is getting worse. This weekend It would kick
me off before the first page was fully loaded. When I am
kicked off the internet the Computer Settings won't show
up. My roommate has a wireless notebook and that works
fine. Does any one have suggestions?

Do you have 801.1x authentication turned on? It should be
disabled -- it's on the property dialog for the adapter.

Also you may want to try with different channels (but
keep base station and adapter on same channels) -- this
might help out if there is interference from other nets,
phones, etc.

Otherwise, try Linksys support -- since we're using MS
routers, we cannot help with issues that may be specific
to Linksys
