I appreciate this might be the wrong group for this question, though it is
a sort of networking I suppose.

I've done a bit of a search (though only cursory) and can't find any
software that allows you to plug two computer's USB ports together and
that provides an interface like the USB ram disks that you can buy?

I've wondered this for a while, it looks to be a really simple driver to
write as Windows is already receptive to USB disks, so all that would be
required is a 'simulation' of one to be provided at the USB port of the
source machine.

Ok, I was being too prescriptive (right word? trying to define what I was
looking for too strictly and ending up with nothing) in my searches.
