Started having problems with this router Saturday night 1/10. Kept
losing the connection. Sunday couldn't connect at all. Got pissed and
unplugged the power cord and went back to my laptop and found I was still on
the Internet. Magic. ha.. Started Network Stumbler and found a default
network on a D-Link device on channel 6 ( same as mine). Took my laptop
outside and decided it was one of the neighbors accross the road, at least
200ft. I would have thought the USR 8054 would have overridden something
that far away, but it was completely disabled. after about 30 minutes I
pluged it back in and changed channels and it seems to be working fine now.
You would think a company like US Robotics would make a device stable enough
to work in an envoronment with other wireless products.

Is there an "auto" setting for the channel number? This might do what you want.

Rod.
