anyone can tech how to share the internet access between a ME(host) and

i have set up ICS in ME (host) successfully,

Both PC can be accessed each other internally.

thanks a lot

Disable your firewall on the ME machine, and try again

Have you run the Networking Wizard in XP?
What IP's are the two machines using?

My Chinese isn't very good(it *is* Chinese???)<g>
and the properties boxes there seem to be different to mine for some
reason.....

BUT - you have way too many entries in the Network Properties (lancard.gif)
box for anything to make sense....
Remove IPX/SPX unless you have a real need for it
Remove NetBEUI - there's no need for it whatever, and XP doesn't use it
anyhow
Remove any other protocols that are not actually in use *on that connection*
Do you really need PPPoE on *both* Ethernet cards? - not my area of
expertise, as I've never been lucky enough to have a personal BB connection.

is DHCP switched on on the clients?
With manually configured IP's on the XP clients, you need the client-side
DHCP switched off
Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP in the WINS section if the clients are manually
configured
Have you tried using the Networking Wizard in XP to configure the clients??

In fact, I don't know what function IPX/SPX works.
But why no need NetBEUI? does it resolve the host name between pc?
When I install PPPoE, it applies PPPoE on both Ethernet cards for me
automatically. should I remove the PPPoE on local Ethernet cards?

I have switched off the DHCP and set the static IP on client(XP) on the
TCP/IP config. but should I stop the "DHCP client" service in the Service
panel?

Let me try to enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP later.

I have try the networking Wizard in XP many times.

I have installed Proxy+ on my Host (ME).
I point the proxy to my host on client PC.
the client can access the wed.
that means the setting of my client is OK.
but ICS on Host has problem?
so what should I check the ICS on Host?

leave the services running - they won't hurt (at least for the moment)
Remove IPX/SPX
NetBEUI is simply a slightly updated NetBIOS - and another protocol that's
outdated.

What are the other settings in Network Properties for the ME box?

'Quick Logon'?? - this option doesn't exist in English versions of ME.
Use the Windows Logon, or the Network logon - I have no idea whether it'll
make any difference, but.....

perhaps you should try working through the solutions that Carey has
gathered - look here

In article <(E-Mail Removed)>, Noel Paton says...

> 'Quick Logon'?? - this option doesn't exist in English versions of ME.

It doesn't? I wonder which language version I have...

System Properties reports "System: Microsoft Windows Me 4.90.3000".
Everything seems to be English.

Client for Microsoft Networks Properties gives me these choices:

-----------------------------------
Logon validation
[ ] Log on to Windows NT domain

Windows NT domain:
[ ]
-----------------------------------

Network logon options

( ) Quick logon

(*) Log on and restore network connections
-----------------------------------
