URGENT-Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!...
We have defined a DHCP vendor class on a Windows 2000 Server that uses
option codes 1 through 7. This has worked fine with 2000 server but now we
need to use Windows 2003 Server with the vendor equipment and when we try to
create an option under "predefined options and values" with code ID 1, we
receive an error message "The option must be between 2 and 255." Is there
anyway around this? Our vendor hardware requires an option ID of 1 (in
vendor class options).
Thanks-

Work around is to use "netsh" commands for adding the option with
"option-id=1" for vendor class.

For netsh related information, please refer to:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/d...netsh_dhcp.asp

Because of our deadline, the vendor we are working with changed their
firmware to accomodate but we will test this for future use.
Thanks for your help!- svgraue

Do you know if Option 1 will be phased out or will be added to the GUI in
future Windows updates? We are in the development phase and would like to
keep the option code numbers consistent between platforms (Unix).

Thank you- svgraue
