Hi, it seems that the MN-700 somehow limits the upload
speeds, this can be changed by changing tha MTU setting,
but that MN-700 does not have this type of setting, like
other routers do. Is there a way of working around it.

I am trying to play some games on Xbox Live and it limits
the number of people I can host, and this problem does not
exist when I plug the xbox directly to the modem. The
tech at Xbox Live did confirm that it is the MTU setting.

In addition I have all ports open for the Xbox, using the
DMZ, and the problem still persists.

Thanks.

p.s. maybe microsoft should upgrade there firmware to
provide this setting.

Microsoft hasn't remained silent on that issue, as we've posted many times
here the MTU is self-adjusting on the MN-700. A lot of factors go into
speeds, including what service the user is paying for in the first place.
If one has a 768/128 DSL connection, the normal, "acceptable" rate is around
80% of that - so 614/82 - because of the DSL overhead. Check with your ISP.

Hopefully of enough people complain they will listen. I
am ready to just give on on the MN-700 if they don't deal
with the problem.

Then maybe the MTU is not the problem, my connection is
not a problem, the problem happens when I am going through
the router. Please take a look at the following link:
http://communities.microsoft.com/new...reviewFrame.as
p?
ICP=mscom&sLCID=US&sgroupURL=microsoft.public.broa dbandnet.

It's about on page 19, this person is having the exact
same problem as me with Project Gothem racing, which is my
favorite Xbox live title, why does this problem exist when
going through the router?

Maybe you can help with this, I have tryied the outer
support and xbox Live support and they can't figure it out.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks.

And two basic questions still remain: (1) As suggested in the thread you
quoted, have you updated the firmware on the MN-740, and (2) are you
following the information in the Knowledge Base article
http://support.microsoft.com/default...04&Product=hdw ?

Yes on both questions. Both the MN-700 & MN-740 are up to
