Here is the setup I want, I admit its a little odd...
I want to set up an 802.11g LAN connecting 2 desktops and at least one
laptop.
And I want to share an internet connection at 56k (please don't bother
to tell me I should ditch the dialup, I pay $6 bucks a month for the
internet and If I want to download something big I'll do it at work,
But I need the .11g speed because I'd like to stream video to the
computers) If I could get by with .11b I would use the rg-1000. (and I
can't use Airport) I am fairly good with computers but not
networking.... sooo...
so what I am wondering is can I set up a WebRamp 300e (by the way, can
anyone tell me if this thing is junk or not..) then connect to a
Wireless router (say... Netgear WGR614) or would I have to use a
bridge? I'd prefer the router for if I do decide to go high speed, it
would be more useful. Then after plugging one of the desktops with an
Ethernet cable, I'd like to connect the rest wirelessly.
Finally I can imagine all kinds of problems getting these parts and my
ISP to play nice... anyone tried something like this??
Thanks,
Matt
