unsharing shared folders.

If I delete a shared folder icon from Start/My Network Places does this
action cause me to lose that folder and its files from my hard drive? If so,
how do I delete these icons without loosing the folder and its files?

Hi
Do not worry you do not lose any thing. Nothing but the Icon is deleted.
However the sharing is still on even if you deleted the Icon.
To stop sharing use Windows Explorer right click on the folder choose share,
click and use the menus to remove the Sharing.
