Unnamed Local/Unix Sockets

When we DON'T bind() a local socket (AF_LOCAL) we get an unnamed socket.
This is different from inet sockets (AF_INET/6); they will be *named*
implicitely as soon as they send data or connect.

Is the concept of unnamed local sockets standardized by POSIX(or whomever)?
