Hi guys....
My wife and I are networked via a D-link DI-704P router
and until about a week ago all was working beautifully.
In fact it still is but I have one glitch that is making
me crazy.

I had to reinstall Windows 98SE on my computer (small
grandson/delete key problem)and that went fine, but now
when I reboot, I don't logon to the network
automatically. I think an "unknown user" is logging on,
because if I do a Start, "log off", the dialog box
allowing me to log on pops up and I can then logon to the
network just fine. I've tried deleting all users and have
set my logon protocol to "Windows Logon" to try and
prevent getting the logon dialog box.....no effcet My
network settings are exactly the same as my wife's, as
they were before the reinstallation. And once I do the
second logon thing, everything works just fine.

Thanks for the advice any of you might have.

David

Well...I did it backwards. I posted the message and THEN
looked to see if my problem was posted. It was. The
response to Sara about deleting the registry key for
automatic logon basically fixed my problem. Thanks for
the answer...

Happy to be able to help ... even if I didn't get to type it again. :-)
