Probably the vigor will have a more stable connection speed.
I found a similar situation when I moved from a Netgear to a Vigor
2600VG. The connection speed dropped from usually being around 28-2900
to usually around 21-2300Kb.
But while the netgear had required rebooting several times per day,
the vigor has not required rebooting once in the several months I have
had it.
I think that is a fair trade off personally :-)
