Unexpected Password Request When Attempting to Access My Other Computer on a
Peer to Peer Network

Both my laptop and my desktop run Windows XP Home Edition. I have set up a
wireless ad hoc network between these two computers. I wish to access the
desktop from my laptop. When I am at the laptop and click on the icon for my
desktop computer in the MSHOME workgroup window, I am requested to enter a
password (tnere is a dialog box with two keys at the top) which I have never
created. I tried the log on password for the desktop, but it won't work. The
user name in the box is greyed out to "guest" anyway and I see no way to
change it to my own user name. How would I create this password for myself so
that I can proceed?

Thanks for any solution
Dennis N.
