I downloaded netdiag from the Microsoft site. It's now installed in my
resource kit directory by default.
When I click netdiag to open it, I get an error:
Entry Point Not Found
The Procedure entry point DnsGetPrimaryDomainName_UTF8 could not be
located in the dynamic link library DNSAPI.dll
This is for a test lab that I'm building. 1 client and 1 dc. I'm
unable to get Group Policy to apply and error messages show that the
client cannot locate the DC. I get errors 1054 and 1053. I've run
"configure Active Directory" wizard and the DNS wizard on the DC.
So I clicked the link in the event viewer for error 1054 and started
to go through the User Action suggestions. One of them is to run
netdiag but that doesn't work.
I also opened a command prompt and typed netdiag, as advised in the
User Action documentation. But the command windows says it's not
recognized as an internal or external command.
I would first like to use netdiag. Then I'd like to figure out what's
wrong with my configuration.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
