Unable to renew IP address...

I have a Netgear 54 mbps wireless router (wgr614), hooked up to my
cable modem. All connections work.
In my laptop, I have a Dell Truemobile 1300 Mini pci 802.11 b/g
(miniPCI card). It works, connected, etc.

My card detects my network, and it even shows that it is connected in
the taskbar. But I can't access the internet. In the past, with my
old network, when this happened, I'd right-click the icon in the
system tray and click refresh, and once it said "reparation completed"
it would work. But when i follow the same steps now, with the
wireless, it says "the follwing steps of the repair operation failed:
Renewing the IP address."

What's going on? How do I get it to work?

Try turning WEP off and broadcast SSID on until you have got it to
work.

Do you have DCHP enabled on the router or somewhere else on the
network?

If you are running XP there is a problem where the registry for winsock gets
corrupted. Error about it not being a socket connection whatever. There is
a fix WinsockXPFix.exe out for it.

SSID = ??? How do I boradcast SSID?
DCHP = ??? How do I know if this is enabled on the router, and should
it be off? If so, how do I turn it off?

Ok, when I turn off WEP, internet works perfectly. But I can't seem
to make it work with WEP... how do I properly configure this?!

Ok, scratch it all.

I figured out what I was doing wrong. When I entered my password on
my computer, i was using the key, not the long Hex code. Once I used
that code, all works perfectly.

Thanks for all your help!
