I added two new desktops to a network, all IP settings
are static, but I am unable to ping the gateway with
these systems using there new IP address. If I power
down one of the older desktops and use its IP address I
am able to ping the gateway. I was able to join the
domain and I can get to everything on the domain except
the gateway. The server (only one)is running Server 2003
with active directory and is the master browser. The
server had to be restored from backup a few weeks ago.
It is my theory that one of the files that was restored
has the attribute set to read-only when it should be
writeable.
I'm I out in left fild with this theory? Any assistance,
suggestions, advise, input is be greatly appricated my
email addresss is (E-Mail Removed)

Thank you,

Roger

Can you post the output of IPconfig /all of a working machine and a non
working machine? Is the Windows Server 2003 box also the default gateway?
Can the non working clients ping other clients on their subnet?
