| I am in high hopes that someone can help me here. I've got several
Windows
| 98 machines that I am unable to map a network drive on. These machines
seem
| to have limitations on what shares it can see on the file server. In
| explorer I can even hand type the path to what I know is a valid network
| share and it just fails to see it.
|
| I can get the windows 2000 machines to do this just fine. How can these
| machines see one share, but not the other? It just doesn't make sense to
me.

You may be having difficulties with consecutive connections. If prior
connections are not released, you will not be able to map the drives.
If you disable auto-disconnection and you are running a workgroup, you may
easily hit the limit (10 connections for workgroup).

You might also have issues with: permissions, network settings. firewalls,
and ports. Have you ensured that all is set correctly?
