Hi, I have an MR814 Wireless router and a Speedstream PCI card. I
purchased this about a week ago. Out the box I was able to get it
running fine. I experienced some drops, but overall it worked great.
Two days later I couldn't connect from my remote computer to the web.
I was still getting a signal from the router though. I did all the
trouble shooting and nothing worked. I finaly reset the router to the
default settings and it work fine for another day or two. Then I
installed a network so I can share a printer. I used the Windows
Network client. That worked fine for one day. Now I can't connect
again from the remote computer. I tried resetting the router. No
luck. I called tech support at Netgear. The tech support guys had me
on the phone for 4 hours doing more troubleshooting. They were no
help at all. I can ping the router, and the web IP address for
yahoo.com and google. But by browser still can't connect. I am
unable to ping a site when I type in "ping yahoo.com". They said it
was something wrong with my OS. I reinstalled WIN XP. I can get a
signal from the router but still can't surf.

Is this Router a lemon or what? Has anyone experienced this? Any
suggestions?

That means you've got access to the net. When you type http://<IP address>,
say that of yahoo.com in the browser address window don't you get to the
site?

There's certainly a pb with your DNS settings. Try to manually set the IP
addresses of your ISP's DNS servers.
I don't remember how this is done in XP but I think you've got to right
click on the Local Network icon then on properties
