unable to browse the network: more than 4800 messages...

When you look for ''unable to browse the network'' in Google (groups), you
get more than 4800 hits. Certainly a sign that the information conveyed by
this error message is not very high...

Here is my contribution:

I've a small network with two boxes (W98 and W2K).

On W2K, everything works as expected.

On W98, when I go to the ''network neighborhood'' I get the (in)famous
message. However, using ''Find computers...'' I can find the two hosts and
browse them without problems...

Any idea?

uninstal and reinstall networking components on the win98 box

make sure you re-share a drive/folder
