I have a RH9 with shorewall (latest version) and ulog (latest

I configure shorewall to log msg in log level ULOG but ulogd doesn't
put this messages in the log file.

You're talking about Shorewalls status messages, right?
If you want ULOG to log the statusmessages you must point to the file by
editing the LOG FILE LOCATION in shorewall.conf. Also replace selected
log level in the selected entries with ULOG. Don't forget to edit your
policy file and change the LOG LEVEL to ULOG...

Now it's time to edit the ulogd.conf file

Uncomment the plugins you want, point to the files you want to be the
destination files, make sure they exist or create them. Tweak some
settings to suit your needs.

Restart ulogd and shorewall and it should work.
Now ULOGD should handle both loglevel and all logging.

If it doesn't, blame it on me

I guess you may already have the answers you needed as your message
was posted in October? But then again, someone else might be glad.
