If you have a USB modem, I think you are hosed. My cable modem has USB and
ethernet. Is that a possiblity? If so, switch to the ethernet option, then
go
incoming > router > computers
If you have only USB, it gets more complex, as one computer needs to be on
at all times to handle the USB modem. I don't know, but you might want to
look into getting an old system just to handle that, then hook it up to your
router, and the other systems to the router. The first system could be made
into a pretty good firewall too.
I'd get a different modem, one with ethernet.
