Is is possible to have two different servers in different states to be on the
same LAN? A way to connect them?

Only if they are very close to the state border! A LAN (Local Area
Network) is limited by the maximum allowed length of cables (eg Ethernet
over Cat 5 or 6).

Did you really mean join two sites to work together? You can do that
using a leased line or by a VPN link through the Internet. A leased line can
act as either a bridged or routed connection. (With a bridge, the sites are
in the same IP subnet). Site to site VPN links are usually routed links.
