Hi all,
i saw that modern servers are provided of two net cards.
What are the possible use of them ?

I guess the cards have two different IP address: can them belong to
different nets ?
Ex. 192.168.0.x and 192.168.1.x to (create two branches of network)

What are the differences between have all the users on both channels on the
same net and in two different nets ?

Is it possible configure the DHCP server (Win2003) to generate addresses for
both the subnets ?

Is it possible to configure the load for each channel ?

Is it possible to balance the load for each channel ?

Is it possible to distinguish the file accesses by the subnet or only by the
username ?

Thanks a lot !!

If you are using the server as a router or firewall, one NIC would be in
each subnet. If you want to run them in the same IP subnet, it is best to
run them using NIC teaming.
