two msn accounts on one IP ?

Hi,

I have got a problem, hope that someone can give me an idea......

I got a modem (speedtouch 510), a hub and two computers with Xp on the
internet.
On both of them i run Msn messenger and every computer has it's own msn
hotmail account.
(So i could msn with myself)

The old pc has internal ip: 10.0.0.152
The new pc has internal ip: 10.0.0.151


For the new pc i had forwarded some ports for msn messenger, and opened my
ports
in Norton firewall as well, like for videochat, file transfer and voice
chat,
and all these functions works fine.

Now i want my old pc day and night online, with the other msn account, so
then friends
are able to ring me and start a voice chat. Problem is that with the old
computer, i can only type
to chat, but voice chat doesn't work. Even when i close norton firewall on
this pc.
(Voice chat on the new pc still works perfect ! )

As far i can see now, the problem is in my networking, because voice chat
with my friend is only
working on my new pc, not on the old one.
Second thing is that it is not the firewall on the old pc, because when i
close it's firewall, it is still not
working.

It looks like to me, that i also have to open (or forward) some ports in the
modem for voice chat
for the old pc. But the ports for Msn i have opened, i have done it for the
new pc (10.0.0.151) port xxxxx,
so now i can't open these ports for the old pc (10.0.0.152) port xxxxx
(there is a list on internet about which ports have to open for msn)

Is there anybody who has two computers, running their own msn fully (for
the kids ;-) on one internet connection?
Typing is not the problem, but voice chat.........

Voor de nieuwe pc heb ik bij de NAT settings wat poorten voor MSN geforward,
die voor audio en video (heb een speedtouch 510)
dus als voorbeeld 10.0.0.151 poort 50028 naar 195.xxx.xx.xx
poort 50028
Msn-en werkt hierop prima: typen, voice chat, webcammen enzv.......



Nu komt het probleem:

Nu wil ik de oude pc dag in dag uit met Msn online hebben, zodat ik via deze
account
"gebelt" kan worden. Ik hoor de bel overgaan, er wordt een verbinding tot
stand gebracht,
er kan getypt worden, maar de voice chat blijft stil. We horen elkaar niet.
Ook als ik norton internet security uitschakel!

(Wanneer ik over ga met msn op de nieuw pc, dan is de verbinding perfect.)



Mijn vraag:

Is het mogelijk wat ik wil (een oude pc continue online, om de nieuwe te
"sparen")
met beide msn?
Is het mogelijk om dan andere poorten te forwarden?
(dus in mijn geval: 10.0.0152 poort 50028 naar 195.xxx.xx.xx poort
50099 bijvoorbeeld? )


Mocht bovenstaande niet mogelijk zijn, zou het dan wel kunnen om op de ene
machine Msn en op de andere
Windows messenger te draaien. (tuurlijk verschillende accounts), zodat ze
elkaar niet "bijten"


Sorry voor de langdradige uitleg, maar anders had ik vermoedelijk meer
vragen dan antwoorden gekregen.

Are you paying for two IP's from your ISP? If you are you don't
need internal IP's. If you are not you should be using a router.

Hi Travis, thanks for your reply!

I don't have two IP's from my provider, and there is a router in my modem
(speedtouch 510)

The network cable comes out from the modem, goes to the hub.
And on the other side of the hub, are two cables. One to the old pc
(i gave it 10.0.0.152) and one cable to the new computer (i gave it
10.0.0.151)

But how do i have to route my both msn messengers?
They use both for example:

6891 : TCP MSN Messenger Filetransfer (incoming) - ports 6891 - 6900,
one port per file transfer
6901 : TCP/UDP MSN Messenger Voice Telephony (incoming)


Do i need to route port 6901 to both computers?
Is that possible?

I am no networking expert but I think it may have something to do
with "loopback" ability. Some networks can do it and some can't.
Sorry that is all I know.
