I have a network setup at home where I have a Linksys v.2.2 access point
connected to a switch which is connected to a router.

Can I add another Linksys access point in another room without ethernet
connection and have it communicate with the other access point?

Thanks

Yes, depending on your goal.

You can put them both in bridge mode (in which case they will
only talk wirelessly to each other - probably not what you want).

You can also put the second one in AP-client mode, in which case it
acts like a wireless card connected to the ethernet port of whatever
you plug into its ethernet port.

As far as I know you _can't_ have the second AP function as an AP and
also talk to the first AP wirelessly.

You mean a repeater? Sure you can. Latest Linksys firmware I believe
or failing that, the dlink dwl900+ firmware works.

Yes, he could flash to the dlink firmware to do that. Is there a
working version of linksys firmware for the wap11 that does this?
Which versions of the wap11?
