Hi,

I have two DHCP servers. How could I set things up so that I can decide
which dhcp server that a client computer would connect to.

Thanks,

Good morning,

Sorry. It does not necessarily work that way. Do you understand how DHCP
works? It is a four step process. The client will take an IP Add from any
DHCP Server....If this is a WIN2000 or WIN2003 Server then the DHCP Server
needs to be authorized before it will be able to function. What is your
DHCP Server? Is it a Windows Server or is it a networking hardware device
(such as a Firewall or Router)?

This is not an option decided from the dhcp client. The DHCP Client just
broadcasts a request and accepts whichever DHCP server responds first.
You can however control the broadcast requests at a router. You can
configure the router for request forwarding and specify the path. If your two
DHCP servers share the same logical network you will need to setup some vlans.

I think the real question is "why do you have to competing dhcp servers?"
I can see a DHCP server for LAN address and one for Wireless addresses, or
posibly small retail company rents space from big retail company and shares
same wired network, but different domains and you want to avoid getting other
companies addresses...
