I'm new to windows (98) and have never got any networking to work right.

Due to a stroke (long after I started computing) I can't follow complex
things and I forget what I read easily. That is to say, studying things
out is impossible.

The dozens or hundreds of acronyms networking people have for breakfast,
lunch and dinner are a confusing mass to me.

The _MANY_ choices required in setting up networking make getting the
job done almost impossible. Right now I think I have selected too many
of some things.

Since networking types seem to be uninclined to hold a dummy's hand all
the way through an installation process, is there a step-by-step
tutorial or recipe that can tell what choices to make when these things
start popping up in the setup process in Win98?

Thanks you for your response. However this is exactly the opposite of
what I posted about. I cannot assimilate piles of general networking
articles (beside which I can Google with the best of them), which is why
I was asking for a Step-By-Step list through a w98 networking
installation. If there are none, then I'm out of luck. But I've read
and studied and searched and done it some more for years. My brain
can't process enough at a time to get through anything. Which is,
again, why I'm looking for something that goes:

1.
2.
3.
4., etc.

A zillion networking gurus have told me I'm just lazy. It's hard to
respond to that without expletives, but it never seems to stop. The
word is always, always go read up on it like I did.

if i can find something that straight forward , I'll let you know

although since there are many variations on netwrok setup/components ...you
may not find exactly what you are looking for
