Hi,

When I do a Ipconfig/all on my win 2008 server or an Vista system, I see a
few "Tunnel Adapter Local Area Connection"

Just wanted to know
1] Why these adapters are created?
2] What are they used for?

Hello vicky,

They belong to IPv6, IP4toIP6 translation adapters for the IPv6 protocol.
ISATAP (Intra-Site Automatic Tunnel Addressing Protocol) comes with IPv6.
